Question from Anne *** of Unite State:
I cannot get the keyboard to connect to my iPad or iPhone. The blue pairing light comes on and flashes, but “Wireless Keyboard” never shows up. I have tried restarting both the keyboard and my iPad and turned the Bluetooth off and back on, but it never shows up. The Caps lock indicator also does not turn on when you hit the Caps Lock key (but all three lights comes on when you first turn the keyboard on.
Please advise if there is anything else I can do to get it to connect.
Answer:
It sounds like you’ve already tried some basic troubleshooting steps, but here are a few additional things you can try to get your wireless keyboard to connect to your iPad or iPhone:
1. Make sure your keyboard is in pairing mode:
Make sure your keyboard is in pairing mode. This usually requires holding down a specific button (usually the power button or a dedicated pairing button) until the Bluetooth light starts blinking rapidly. See your keyboard’s manual for specific instructions.
2. Check your Bluetooth settings:
On your iPad or iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
Look for your keyboard in the list of available devices. If it appears, tap it to connect.
3. Forget and re-pair your device:
If the keyboard has been paired with your device before, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the “i” icon next to the keyboard, and select Forget this device.
Then, try pairing the keyboard again as if it were a new device.
4. Check your keyboard’s batteries:
Make sure your keyboard has enough battery power. Low batteries can sometimes cause connection issues.
5. Reset your network settings:
On your iPad or iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth connections. After resetting, try pairing your keyboard again.
6. Update iOS:
Make sure your iPad or iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates.
7. Try another device:
Try pairing your keyboard with another Bluetooth-enabled device (such as another iPad, iPhone, or even a computer) to see if the problem is specific to your device or the keyboard itself.
8. Hard reset the keyboard: (Please let us know your keyboard series and model)
Some keyboards have a reset button or a specific key combination that resets them to factory settings. Refer to your keyboard manual for instructions on how to do this.
9. Contact support:
If none of the above steps work, there may be a hardware issue with your keyboard. Please contact seller support for further assistance, or consider a replacement if the keyboard is still under warranty.
Hopefully, one of these steps will help you connect your keyboard to your iPad or iPhone.
